Waterfalls and Wineries in Indiana

Grab your friends or significant other this summer, and hit the road to discover some of Indiana's best waterfalls and wineries.  We have compiled a list of our favorites to get you started.

Waterfalls

Clifty Falls State Park is located in Southern Indiana near the Kentucky border, just outside of Madison, Indiana.  The park offers four amazing waterfalls all within a four-mile hiking loop. Trail 5 of the park will take you past Big Clifty Falls, Little Clifty Falls, Hoffman and Tunnel Falls. Cataract Falls These falls can be found in the Lieber State Recreation Area. Cataract Falls can be accessed from the towns of Cunot or Cataract off of State Road 243. Giant boulders create a beautiful cascading effect in these falls, that boast being the highest volume falls in Indiana. France Park Falls France Park Falls in Cass County near Logansport is a beautiful waterfall situated in an old rockquarry. An underground creek spills out of a 15-foot drop producing a stunning view. France Park is located in Cass County near Logansport, Indiana. Muscatuck Falls Musatatuck Falls in Jennings County is a series of falls located along the Muscatatuck River. Situated on a two-mile trail beginning at Vinegar Mill in North Vernon, there are several different types of falls including a plunge falls and a stair-step style falls.  Silver Cascades Falls Shades State Park, located just southwest of Crawfordsville, is home to the Silver Cascades Falls and Maidenhair Falls. The Silver Cascades Falls run down the side of a stone wall creating a lovely cascading effect.

Wineries

This fairly new winery set in Westfield, Indiana provides several activities for the family. It has a playground, a full wine and beer menu, and a pizza kitchen.  With activities like yoga, summer outdoor concerts, and Disney Trivia “ there is something for everyone in the family. Peace Water Winery This winery has locations in both Carmel, on Main Street, and downtown Indianapolis, on Mass Ave.  Known for a great selection of wines, mostly on the dry side, this winery also hosts special nights such as œPaint Your Own Wine Glass. Because they donate 50% of their profits to charity, this is one stop you can feel great about making. Hopwood Cellars Hopwood Cellars is located in the heart of the quaint Zionsville Village.  Live music every Friday and Saturday makes this the perfect weekend stop. Surrounded by small shops and restaurants, it's easy to make an entire day out of this location. Chateau Thomas Winery Local to Plainfield, Chateau Thomas is known as much for its pleasant and knowledgeable staff as it is for its award winning wine.  Founded by a former obstetrician who decided to turn his passion and love for winemaking into a business operation, this is a local spot you won't want to miss. Mallow Run Winery Food trucks and live music are a summer weekend staple and Mall Run Winery, situated in Bargersville. Family friendly with a large lawn and stage for bands to perform, make sure to pack a blanket and the whole family for an evening of fun.
