Best Breweries in Nashville

Nashville may be known as the Country Music Capital of the world, but there is another scene that is also abundant “ independent breweries. With an ample list of locations to choose from, it can be difficult to know which stops to add to your list. We've compiled a list of the top breweries in the area that are worth checking out with your friends.

1. Southern Grist Brewing – 5012 Centennial Blvd, Nashville

If you are looking for a stop in a more lowkey area than downtown Nashville, Southern Grist Brewing in East Nashville is the perfect stop. This laid-back brewery gained popularity so quickly after opening, they had to open a second location shortly after to keep up with demand. With a quiet and intimate setting, several board games, and an array of sweet, sour beers, you won't be disappointed.

2. New Heights Brewing – 928 5th Ave S, Nashville

Located on the southern end of Broadway, New Heights Brewing is well known for both its large selection on beer on tap and depth of flavor in each one. Consistently rated as having a friendly helpful staff, the employees of New Heights will be able to help you find the perfect brew for your taste buds. This brewery also boasts a collaboration with 312 pizza, so it's the perfect lunch stop during a day of brewery hopping.

3. Yazoo – 900 River Bluff Dr, Madison

This list wouldn't be complete without a stop at Nashville's biggest and most well-known brewing company.  While Yazoo beers can be found at most establishments around town, a stop at Yazoo's own taproom is a must. With a large selection of rotating seasonal taps, you're bound to find something you enjoy.

4. Bearded Iris Brewing – 101 Van Buren St, Nashville

One of the more stylish taprooms on our list comes in the form of Bearded Iris Brewing. Styled after a speak easy, the tap room boasts an extravagant and slightly eclectic vibe with the brewing equipment effortlessly adorning the other half of the space in a way that works seamlessly with the tap room decor. But the Bearded Iris is more than a pretty face, this East Germantown staple has a full menu chock-full of top-notch brews.

5. Jackalope – 701 8th Ave S, Nashville

Jackalope's Den, the original Jackalope location (there are now two) is a unique and fun establishment. Fun artwork lines the walls, and there are several games to play both indoor and outdoor with friends, as well as plenty of fun activities for kids such as coloring books, crayons and comic books. The real star of the show, however, are the sixteen taps that pour a variety of beers made with a large assortment of unique ingredients such as maple syrup. Not a big drinker? Check out ZolliKoffee connected to the taproom, which pours up several drinks with big flavors of their own.

6. Tennessee Brew Works – 809 Ewing Ave, Nashville

Wrap up your day of brew hopping with a stop at Tennessee Brew Works. With an onsite kitchen and culinary staff, this brewery offers a full-service menu making it the perfect stop for dinner.  A roof top deck doubles the amount of outdoor space, and the two-story building also has plenty of room inside as well.  In addition to a fantastic building, Tennessee Brew Works large selection of European style beers will definitely leave you satisfied.
